Description
Our naturally-grown deep orange Calendula officinalis flower heads (seeds & petals) are slowly double-infused (2×6 weeks) into cold-pressed certified organic olive oil at a controlled temperature for optimum extraction. We produce our plant oils only in small batches using organic and responsibly sourced ingredients. This is not an essential oil as Calendula flowers are low in volatile compounds (~0.2%) and render low distillation rates. The unique way to capture all the botanicals contained in this plant is to slowly extract the whole flower heads (seeds & petals) into an oil that promotes Calendula’s beneficial properties. Calendula is a well-known versatile plant beneficial for dry and damaged skin. Calendula oil can be used as it is, in massage mixtures with other oils, or for the enrichment of skincare products (salves, creams, masks). To preserve and maintain the beneficial properties of Calendula oil for years, we package our oils in light-resistant, amber glass bottles which prevent light degradation. Our Calendula Oil is made at a botanical extract ratio of 1:5, which means 1-part Calendula flowers to 5-parts Olive oil which translates to 17% Calendula in each bottle. We do not include any fragrance or extracts in our oils to make them suitable for delicate baby skin as well as, sensitive skin.

(See photo)What are the true ingredients?I am not commenting on the product quality, my comments reflect company attention to detail whether intentional or not.Is the company saving by using up outdated packaging or labels inventory or are the ingredients changing based on availability and / or cost?Regardless unexpected concern from a Canadian company. I specifically searched for domestic product to minimize risk of this type issue. Sweet almond oil is prefered for sensitive skin vs olive oil even if organic first pressing from a reliable single source. This may be a non-issue for some customers since either emulsifier is acceptable but I want to know what I’m buying.

it runs down side of bottle and onto table, how to get dispenser out more, very messy and frustrating.
So, I have only used it once so far and I layered it over a hydrating toner and serum. I bought this because lately, everything is burning my skin but especially the skin under my eyebrows. And my skin is too dry to go without anything and let it heal as recommended. After researching, some articles suggested only using argan oil until it heals but I can’t stand the smell of argan oil on a good day and I know jojoba had always worked for me in the past. I came across this one and looked up the benefits of the added calendula and chamomile and articles suggest they can help with inflammation/healing and calendula may help with breakouts. Upon application, there was no burning or stinging and my face didn’t feel tight like it always does after using a moisturizer (even thick ones).This has a super faint smell, maybe vanilla or orange blossom? I can’t quite put my finger on it, I think it is the calendula but it smells nice and you only smell it if you have your fingers touching your nose. I couldn’t smell it all with it just on my skin so I don’t think anyone will have an issue with what microscopic scent there is. I am super sensitive to scents which is how I noticed it. I’ll update if any issues arise with continued use.
Iâve been using this brand for 6 months now and love it. I normally have pretty dry skin and this + a little squalane and makes my skin glow, i get so many compliments on my skin now. I love the calendula. And it being mixed with almond oil makes you smell like a snack- my man likes it too 🙂
