It worked nicely and since i started using Geeni apps, i only buy smart devices that uses Geeni apps so i only use 1 apps.

Do not purchase online
We have purchased two of these in the past couple months. One from Canadian tire and one from Amazon. The one purchased online the wire is permanently loose and we are unable to use it. The one from the store youâre able to check it out and confirm if itâs good. 1 star
Flip video mode needs improvement
Like many security cameras, our cameras are set up in elevated positions to capture entire rooms. My issue is that the pan down function will not allow enough range of movement to see the floor. The work around is that you have to mount the camera upside down and then use setting to âflipâ the video image.Flipping the image on an inverted camera allows for full ceiling to floor coverage but with this camera, it does not change the directional control arrows so I have to select left arrow to move the camera view to the right, select the up arrow to pan the camera down etc. our Geeni baby monitor camera adjust these same controls when you flip the video so that the arrows match the movement of the camera. Why canât this model do the same thing?Another issue is the motion tracking. I have the camera set to capture movement around two doors but if the camera detects movement and the person being followed walks to one side of the camera view and then leaves the area, the camera does. It return to the original viewing position leaving the originally set up view unprotected. Perhaps a âreturn to user set monitoring â position could be an option in future updates?Set up was easy enough although the QR code set up did not work on most of our Geeni cameras including this one.I am otherwise happy with this camera and my other Geeni products as an inexpensive addition to our home security system.

This is my 7th Geeni camera. I have found that all of the cameras are relatively easy to set up within the app. (I’ve had little experience with other apps for comparison, but it sounds comparable to friends with other brands.) This camera offers a solid picture quality and is easy to control within the app. The movement is smooth with just a slight lag.My only complaint with Geeni is that occasionally, I’ve had a camera drop offline for a day or so. Usually, they do somehow reset and come back online on their own. Of course, you can reset them manually, but you can’t do that if it happens while travelling. Note, this is fairly rare, it has happened once or twice for a couple of specific cameras (not this one, I haven’t owned it that long) about once a year. Otherwise, I find the app and features to be intuitive and easy to use.

This is an excellent camera if you need some PTZ surveillance in your home but it does have a couple of faults I’ve noticed which may just be my configuration at fault. One of which is if I put on Motion Tracking, it detects motion in an empty room and randomly decides it wants to look at a wall in tracking that motion. The second issue I’ve found is, sometimes my controls do not get issued or followed by the camera which can be troublesome.This may or may not be a sensitivity issue but I’m still unsure why the camera just decides the wall is moving and thus, it must focus intently upon that wall. Maybe a lighting and shadow issue playing with the sensor or a sensitivity setting but I’ll eventually figure it out.Other than those random incidents, I’ve had no problems with the camera and it has erstwhile seemed to have calmed down with the randomness. I’m not disappointed, it’s probably a setting of sensitivity and configuration I’ve yet to work to where it needs to be and I’m very happy with the camera overall.
Purchased one of these a month and a half ago. We have an older model at home that works fine. This newer model took multiple attempts to set up, despite being right next to the wifi router and phone. After setup, it would work for a day or two and then power itself off. I reached out to Geeni for support, and their customer service team did nothing but suggest to check the internet and power outlet were functioning. I confirmed the internet and power were fine, and Geeni customer service never responded back after multiple follow-ups. When my old Geeni finally dies, I wonât be buying anything from this company again.
