Install them forget them
I got these about six months ago. Set up was a breeze, they connected to Alexa easily through the Govee app. I placed them around my apartment and that was it. For months Iâve been able to ask Alexa the temperature in particular rooms and these work like a charm. They also connect to my Govee smart fan, so that the fan can be set to turn on and off depending on the temperature of the room, and this is also easy to set up and worked seamlessly for me. I love these little devices, you can hide them anywhere, and when the AAA batteries finally quit, I can just recharge them. I havenât used any of the tracking features.

It works, but does not connect with Alexa or Google Home
Although the seller says it works with Alexa and Google Home, it actually does not. The only thing it does is show in the alexa/Google Home app what is the temperature and humidity (in the case of Alexa, not even temperature).This means you cannot use Alexa to automatically turn on/off humidifiers or ACs based on the device’s readings. It connect with Alexa/Google Home, but you can’t do anything with it, so there’s literally no reason to do so.The device itself seems to work fine, it was easy enough to connect with the instructions sent and it already comes with batteries, which is a plus. I’d give it 5 stars if they didn’t lie about it working with Alexa and Google Home.TLDR: If you don’t care about smart home integration, it is a good device.

i am lovin g this thermometer, but the one issue I have is that when I get too far from the device it goes off because I am too far away.
AAA battery powered wifi temps
Works great with Govee app, even accessible data when away from where they are placed (ex: you can check home temps when away on vacation). AAA batteries seem to last for months and months and months.
I recently purchased the Govee WiFi Temperature Sensor H5179 to monitor the temperature in my office closet, which houses servers and switches. I set alerts for when the temperature exceeds my desired threshold, ensuring Iâm always informed if things get too hot. This feature gives me peace of mind, especially with sensitive equipment in the closet.Remote Monitoring: Being able to check the temperature remotely through the app is incredibly convenient. I can monitor conditions from anywhere, which is perfect for my busy schedule.Data Storage: The ability to store data for up to two years is impressive. I can easily export this data for analysis, which is helpful for tracking trends over time.My Experience:Setting up the sensors was straightforward, and they connected to my WiFi without any issues. Since I installed them, Iâve felt much more secure knowing that Iâll receive alerts if the temperature rises unexpectedly. Itâs made managing my office environment much easier.
I use these to monitor the temperature in my chicken coop throughout the winter in Alaska, it has never failed to send the alert when the temp drops below what I have it set at so I can bump up the heater. Temp ranges can be changed for different uses and I use it in my garage as well in case the toyo stove stops running. They’re also handy to just have on the furnace room and by the front door to get an immediate alert if a door was left open or the furnace isn’t kicking back on.
This Govee hydrometer is super accurate. Easy to download the app and keep track of from your phone. I purchased a cheap $35 incubator from Amazon. After adjusting the temperature and humidity according to this govee hydrometer I had 24 out of 28 quail eggs hatch. I have better incubators but wanted a small cheap one for smaller hatches. This hydrometer will improve your hatch rate in tabletop incubators. A+
These Govee temperature sensors are absolute lifesaversâwell, not for me, but for my wine and greenhouse. My Pinot Noir is now aging at the perfect temperature while Iâm aging like milk. The app notifications are spot-on, so if the temp even thinks about crossing the line, I know about it before my plants do (unlike my friends, who never text back).The data storage export is great tooâbecause who doesnât love spreadsheets of humidity and temperature data? Itâs like Iâm CSI-ing my own greenhouse. Honestly, if these sensors could monitor my life choices as well as they monitor my wine cellar, Iâd be in a much better place.5 stars for keeping my plants and wine alive, even if itâs too late for me. I bought these to monitor the temp under Mom’s double wide in case pipes freeze. It was easy to set up and worked great… until we drove home and realized the app was no longer retrieving new data. It looks like this app only gets data from the sensors when connected to the same wifi as the sensors. I had assumed it uploaded data to a server and the app pulls from that over the internet. But, this wouldn’t apparently be the case unless it is somehow working wrong. We are visiting today and can see it recorded data the whole time andit shows up in the app now while on her wifi, until we drive away.If there is a way to fix this, please let me know and I’ll change it from 3 to 5 stars.Update: I visited Mom again a week ago, and while there the app connected and transferred all the backlog of data into it. When we left, it continued to show the latest data in the app. So, at the moment, it appears to be working. And, I didn’t do anything to the configuration to try to fix this other than just show up in the house and for a while be on her wifi. So, I dunno? Seems flaky with no obvious way to fix it when it decides it doesn’t want update the data. But, it is now working.
