Waste of Money
Although these were easy enough to set up – one camera didn’t hold a charge at all. I tried multiple times over the past 2 months to fix it on my own and now have to leave it plugged into the wall and cannot return it. The other camera works ‘alright’ but randomly loses it’s connection even though it’s close to the Wifi and nothing else in my house is challenged by the connection. Battery life on them seems to be decent when they are working. You cannot view the “history” of camera shots without an SD card or subscription to cloud storage – so unless you just want to use it to spy and keep open on your phone or desktop it may be useless to you.

So far so good!
I used one as a hidden camera at the entrance of my home and the other one as a dash cam. I turned off the motion detector on the one I use as a dash cam. When you turn the motion detector off you cannot use humanoid detection, so I am a bit disappointed (I take one star off for that). But everything else is working as you would expect.

Functionality for the money
I bought a camera to monitor the interior of the house and I didn’t know which one to buy.Then, reading the various reviews, I found these and I chose them for the following reasons:- I didn’t want to pay a Cloud to store the recorded movies (also because I have no idea who can access them besides me), but I preferred them on a SIM card (much cheaper)- I wanted a nice and easy to install object.The installation was very simple (2 minutes on the camera) and the assembly was convenient (I used the free double-sided adhesive). I did not want to put holes in any walls and wanted the freedom of placing the camera in different rooms as needed.I bought a128GB mini SIM card on Amazon (which allow me to store recordings directly in the camera), the APP for monitoring is intuitive and convenient. The video quality is also excellent in night vision (you can choose HR or LR), decide the alarm zones, time their ignition and detection comfortably from the phone.The audio is a bit distorted at times but not as important to me.After a month of use, I can confirm that the product is excellent for both simplicity and quality.You can also activate the voice from the cameras, a small alarm siren, take pictures, make recordings, share them with whoever you want (my partner and I see the same images on different phones).I recommend it for those who don’t want to spend alot of money to install a monitoring system.

I got these little guys today, and have tested them for a bit.There’s a lot of cameras where the functionality hinges on some mandatory subscription package, and I’m overall quite happy with these as they work fine without.The exception is if you want the “advanced AI detection” of pets/cars (or, of course, cloud storage), as these will require a subscription.But if you expect to point these outside where there’d be car traffic, you’d probably rather want to look for a different model camera that is weatherproofed for outside installation anyway.The (iOS) app has poor translation in places, but it’s fairly straightforward to use if you’re used to dealing with these kind of gadgets, and it seems to have a quite good amount of features.One small hiccup was that one of the cameras stopped responding during the update procedure. So eventually I had to power cycle to reset that camera and restart the setup procedure as the update never initialized and the camera just sat there. But it worked fine and updated successfully afterwards.I had a few occasional issues with the live feed freezing and one of the cameras not connecting, but it seems that when something activated the camera, it’d come back online.Whenever WiFi is involved, that’s usually my first suspicion, and there will be “shadow spots” in any building/room. As long you just make sure they are in a spot with decent reception, they seem to generally work quite well.In Live View you can zoom and scroll the image, which is great, but one thing that really is missing, is that there’s no easy way to switch the camera between day/night modes manually. Automatic mode works fine most the time, but in low light it tends to flick back and forth a lot sometimes and there is a loud click noise each time. I’d have liked a dedicated button on the UI, but you have to dig through menus for this. Minor complaint, though.The image quality is quite decent for the intended purposes, both in regular/IR mode. The audio from the microphone is, as expected, not the best. It’s far better at picking up my cat meowing, than my low voice, and lacks detail. But it’s sufficient that you’ll be able to speak through the camera as an intercom in a quiet area, and it’s very nice to have it + the built-in speakers.Motion activation works well, and battery runtime is very good.I’ve had them running and activating at the smallest movements (to see what my cat does when I’m away), and even while triggering for 80-100 times/day, I’m going to guess that they’ll be running for weeks, rather than days. Which is pretty impressive.There are several default modes, and a custom mode with a good amount of options for fine tuning how the cameras operate and trigger. Also the “humanoid detect” works out of the box, and with it on, the cameras do a good job at ignoring my cat, and will mostly just trigger on people.Great little cameras with good features overall.

I bought two cameras from ieGeek so far (indoor battery camera and a doorbell camera). Before I purchased them though I did read through a lot of reviews on other brands as well and took my time before making any decisions. I must admit it took me a while. I had an eye on ieGeek doorbell for a year but because I couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted I dropped the idea initially. Then a neighbour of ours showed me how their cameras work and a friend, I was going on holiday with, mentioned about getting an indoor camera for peace of mind whilst we are away and my interest sparked again.So I started reading through reviews again. One of them advised that if you are planning to install more than one camera it’s best to buy them from the same brand so you don’t have to instal different apps for each camera on your phone, but rather have all of them in one app. That was helpful because I knew I wanted an indoor camera and a doorbell. Hence, I had a look which brands offer both with possibility to add another outdoor camera if I needed it in future. I also wanted the cameras to save videos on SD card rather than paying a subscription for a cloud storage. So I looked up ieGeek doorbell again (I still had it in my wish list from a year ago) and noticed that ieGeek do other types of camera as well. Indoor battery camera is pretty small and handy (smaller and smarter looking than other brands I looked up) and that pretty much sealed my choice. I paid around £100 for both and I’m happy with my purchase. Price was good (I didn’t want to buy the cheapest camera on the market but also not an expensive one either). Both cameras do what it says on the tin. Both connected to network ok (I didn’t have any problems like some people reported for other brands). I’ve had both cameras for about a month now. Battery still holds on both since the initial charge. Picture quality is as expected.I’m planning to buy another outdoor solar operated camera as my car got scratched by presumably a delivery van whilst I was on holiday. Unfortunately, the doorbell wouldn’t have caught the incident as a bush obscures the view from the side where the van parked. Hence the need for another camera somewhere on the building where the bush isn’t in a way.This might be a common sense but if I was to give advice to someone buying a security camera for the first time I would say think about what you want the camera/cameras for (what you want them to show/record and maybe what you don’t want them to show/record) and where you want to place them. Depending on that look for the right specifications for you (like battery/cable/solar operated etc.), read through reviews and talk to someone who already has some cameras installed especially if your budget is tight but also to avoid disappointment if your expectations are higher than what the cameras can achieve in your circumstances.I had zero experience with security cameras before my purchase. I didn’t know what to expect. I’m glad I asked around and did some reading before making a decision which brand to buy from. I’m happy with what ieGeek offers. Their products are good quality and value for money.

Wir haben zur Absicherung unseres Privatgrundstückes schon mehrere Kameras der Marke ieGeek verschiedener Typen im Einsatz. Diese Kameras laufen bis heute einwandfrei, daher haben wir auch diesmal wieder von dieser Marke eingekauft.Die Lieferung der Kamera mit erfolgte über Amazon Prime wie üblich sehr schnell und sicher. Sehr gute gepolsterte Verpackung im Karton.Beim Auspacken der Kamera fällt sofort die sehr gute Verarbeitung auf.Die Kamera selbst ist relativ schwer aufgrund der massiven Verarbeitung mit dem eingebauten Motor zur Verstellung. Die notwendige Montageplatte für die Wandmontage ist aus stabilem Metall gefertigt.Auch das Solarpanel und die Halterung für das Panel sind sehr hochwertig hergestellt.Wir haben diese Kamera zur Überwachung von einem Raum in unserem Vereinsheim angeschafft. In dem Raum werden werden auch hochwertige und teure Elektronik Teile gelagert und wir benötigen eine permanente Überwachung des Raumes, auch per Fernüberwachung und Alarmierung bei unbefugtem Zutritt.An dem geplanten Montageort im Raum ist kein direkter Stromanschluss vorhanden, und zusätzlich ist der Sicherungskasten 220 Volt von außen zugänglich (im Treppenhaus).Daher haben wir uns für diese Variante mit eingebauter Batterie und unabhängiger Ladung per Solarpanel entschieden.Die Kamera wurde an einer Innenwand gegenüber Eingangstür montiert.Das Solarpanel wurde im Fensterausschnitt des Dachfensters montiert. Aufgrund der ausreichenden Kabellänge (ca. 3 Meter) am Solarpanel war dies problemlos möglich.Sollte die Sonne mal zu wenig scheinen ist ein Aufladen der Kamera auch mit separatem Netzteil möglich. Dies haben wir zur Installation der Kamera durchgeführt, um den eingebautem Akku schnell vollständig zu laden.Hinweis: unser WLAN Router wird seit langem an einer USV Anlage (unabhängige Stromversorgung mit Batterie) betrieben. Daher klappt die Übermittlung der Alarmmeldungen auch bei ausgeschalteter Stromversorgung oder Manipulation des Sicherungskastens.Die Montage der Kamera war sehr einfach durchzuführen, alle notwendigen Teile zur Montage sind im Lieferumfang enthalten.Auch die Einrichtung der Kamera mit Hilfe der App funktionierte problemlos.Leider ist die App nur einige Tage kostenlos, danach ist ein kostenpflichtiges Abo nötig.Schön wäres es, wenn auch diese Kamera mit der kostenlosen CamHi App laufen würde.Die Kamera deckt nun diesen Technikraum ab und gibt einen Alarm, wenn jemand unbefugt den Raum betritt.Die Bildqualität ist tagsüber sehr gut, aber auch in der Nacht hervorragend.Die Installation insgesamt war für mich als Laie in diesen Dingen einfach zu erledigen.Dies auch dank einer guten Bedienungsanleitung in deutscher Sprache (gut verständlich übersetzt).Zu den vielen sonstigen positiven Eigenschaften wurde in anderen Rezessionen bereits viel geschrieben.Wir sind aktuell mit der Kamera sehr zufrieden. Alle beschriebenen Eigenschaften funktionieren einwandfrei. Eine Probealarmierung (Betreten des Raumes mit eingeschalteter Kamara) funktionierte sofort einwandfrei.Zur Lebensdauer der Kamera und dem Akku kann aufgrund der kurzen Einsatzdauer noch nichts gesagt werden.Ggf. werde ich dazu später eine Ergänzung schreiben.Hinweis: leider funktionierte aktuell das Laden eines Videos nicht. Dies werde ich demnächst ergänzen.
