Works as expected
I take my shower way too hot, so having a temperature monitor is useful to set myself goals. It works as expected. Of course it did reduce the water pressure coming out, but thatâs to be expected, of course the generator impedes the flow, itâs physics 101. It will also obviously increase the pressure before the generator, so I had a small leak at first, but a bit of tightening fixed that.
I was worried about leaking and about losing water pressure at the nozzle, but both of those fears were unnecessary. Installed this in about 2 minutes just tightening by hand with no pipe threader or whatever, just making sure both sides had a rubber gasket, and I don’t get so much as a drip. Our shower already had a kind of weak spray, so other reviewers had me worried that I might have to take it back out if it slowed to a dribble, (which is part of why I only slapped it in by hand in 2 minutes) but if there was any reduction in pressure at all I am unable to tell. And it seems very accurate, though I honestly wouldn’t care about that as long as I know what number feels too cold and what number is too hot, and it has definitely been precise: the same number is consistently the same temperature.
This was very easy to install and it works perfectly! Itâs great to know how hot your water is. I can avoid burning my skin and itâs also good for kids so you can teach them how to get their own shower started without them making the water too hot. On the slip side, our child had a fever and to cool her down, we knew what temp to set it at without being too cold.
Great product. At first it was leaking but I just tightened it up really good without the need of tape and itâs fine for now. Prolly will install the tape later if needed. Overall Iâm happy with it. I love to know what the temp is for the water and this is perfect for what I needed and easy to install
I bought two of these thermometers – neither works. I waited too long to install them – days – so I can’t return them, but heed my warning and don’t waste your money on these useless pieces of plastic. I even paid a plumber to install them just in case I was doing it wrong. The plumber agreed – these are junk, not even worthy of a landfill.
I bought one of these years ago and it worked really well. It was easy to install, clear reading, etc. but eventually the plastic housing cracked and it started to leak. Given low cost, fine for me to buy a second one.
