Very useful!

Good Product
Very easy to install and use. It’s a little big but it does it job, keeps little kids from being able to touch the plug and pull it out!
Plug Cover Safely Secures In-Use Outlets from Curious Little Hands
Our daughter’s room is small and wherever we could put the crib there was going to be a wall outlet nearby. In order to use the outlets close to her bed more safely, I bought this plug cover. The installation is simple enough. Unscrew your wall plate for your current outlet and replace with this unit. The door/enclosure snaps off and on to make installation easier. Once installed, just plug in, use the wrap, close the door, and slide it down to latch it in place. The lock isn’t very strong, but it is an effective deterrent and I doubt that a toddler would figure out how to open it without giving up first. The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that it doesn’t account for outlets that stand out further than the wall. Our house is old so the outlet boxes are not all 100% flush where they should be. So the decora outlet sticks out a few millimetres from the wall. A decora wall plate still covers the area around the outlet fine, but this plug cover sits a millimetre or two off from the wall instead of being flush. I think that standard style outlets would be fine but decora outlets will have a slight gap if they’re not perfectly installed.Still, this product makes me feel better about having an outlet so close to the crib. There’s no way my daughter will be able to try to play with the outlets now even if shes tries.
East to open
My toddler got them open in about 2 seconds flat. They are way to easy to open. And of course itâs something new so the interest in âwhat is thisâ is there. Needs a stiffer or more difficult lock tab
Works as supposed to
This works exactly as described and exactly as I was looking for. A great way to not only keep my children safer but also helps clean up the look at the receptacle.
Great product!
Great product! Looks a little silly on your wall when installed (its a large white box afterall), but it does the job! My 10 month old twins are little houdinis who have managed to figure out every baby proofing object, including pulling outlet covers off, so we got these to keep them out of the outlets. So far so good – this might be one of the only baby proof objects that my girls haven’t figured out. Best of all, we can have the outlets in use without worry that they’ll pull the plug out and play with it!Works with both the standard outlets and decorative outlets, which is nice. However, if you have a large plug (like the ones that come with some electronics), they will not fit in the box. The baby monitor plug only just fit in.
Perfect for what I needed.
I used this to cover the outlet right beside my daughters bed. We have the new outlets that are already kid proof, but I needed to put in an extension cord and she would have ripped it right out if I didn’t order this awesome product. If you can chnage a faceplate on an outlet you can install this without any issues. You remove the existing faceplate and replace with this unit.
Does its job, but could be better.
Update: still working just fine. But out of sight out of mind is the key from some children. So if it’s just out of sight you need. Try taping a cleaned out butter/margarine container over the plug for a while. It may save you having to buy a device while that child grows. I have this product in review. But the kids haven’t touched the device or wires since. As its been out of sight out of mind. So does it work… assumingly so.This works well. Unlike most in the pictures I mounted this with the cords coming out the bottom just fine. I have the newer style rectangular plugs, not the round looking sockets from the 60s. I took the screws out of the plate and used the top and bottom holes in this device. they line up perfect for me. Clearly others have had issues if you read the reviews. But this works well for me. I have an active 1 year old that liked to pull the plugs out on one particular plug. So I ordered this. Works well. What can be better about it. Well if you have a power bar plugged in, they typically have thicker cords, so it takes a bit of a tighter bend than normally to make it fit in and out of this unit. But I managed just fine. If you have a plug with an angled head or a larger head it may not fit properly inside this unit. But for most normal horizontal plugs, its fine. Could the plastic be a bit better? Yes. A hair thicker and with more of a flexible type of plastic. This is the type of plastic that will become brittle in 5 years. The kind that would explode into many pieces if dropped in the cold. But. again, it works for me!
This product works great! It covers two large 3-prong plugs, protecting them from being knocked out of the socket. It’s also easy to open and close, enabling you to plug/unplug cords as necessary. In my case, it wasn’t a problem with kids pulling plugs out of a socket, but accidentally brushing up against the outlet and knocking the plugs loose. This was not only an irritant (computer was unplugged) but also a safety concern (kids would try to re-insert the plugs themselves). This Outlet Plug Cover is made up of two parts – an outlet cover that screws onto the outlet, and a plug cover that opens/closes on a hinge like a door. It comes assembled and installs in the time it takes to unscrew the existing outlet cover and screwing this one on. What is nice is that the plug cover is easy to open and close, if you need to plug/unplug cords. The door snaps shut with an easy-to-use child lock.Very nice product overall.
Front he time our daughter could reach an outlet, no cord was safe. We put plugs in all of the unused outlets, but the used ones were really tough. We had to continually relocate her to keep her from the plugs. When she started cruising and walking, she was able to get back to them about as quick as we could move her, so we got this. This item is GREAT! It has a wrap for shortening loose cord length, and allows for a number of different plug styles to be used with it. The cover actually replaces the standard outlet cover, so it holds on tight to the wall, and stays in place. When you need to access the plug, it’s easy to pop and rotate, without allowing the baby to get into it.It has saved us from having to repeatedly relocate our daughter to avoid the outlets, allows us to be confident that she is not going to into a live wire, and is a great way to keep the TV or other items from being unplugged while in use.Absolutely a 5 star item.
This product is very good at getting rid of unwanted cords. However, it is very small inside and will not accommodate more than one of those plugs that has a large base to it and some plugs with a large base may not fit at all. For example, I bought this product for use in my son’s room where I have a plug-in video baby monitor and a plug-in baby swing. Both the video baby monitor and the baby swing have plugs with large bases (not just the normal small two-prong plug). I was only able to fit one plug into this plug cover and even then it just barely fit. The locking mechanism of the plug cover is not very good. It is just a very small piece of plastic that you press to release (see the tiny latch on the left side of the photo of the plug cover). I do not doubt that my 1 year old could manage to release this latch if he tried hard enough. Despite these problems, this is the best plug cover I have found for a baby’s room. I definitely think this plug cover is better than nothing but I still do not trust it to really keep a toddler out for long due to the flimsy latch.
I read all the reviews for this product before buying, because I was very worried about whether a power-strip cord would fit. A number of reviews said it did not fit. I’m glad I went ahead and got this outlet cover anyway – because it does fit. We have one large power strip cord and one regular cord. You have to but the large one in the top plug and then curl it outwards to make it fit, but it DOES work. You wouldn’t be able to fit two, but one is fine, with another regular cord in the lower plug. My 10 month old has now lost interest in the plugs since we installed the cover. It works perfectly, and there’s no way he could get it off because the large power strip cord actually makes it more difficult to do so. Also, super easy to install. Took two minutes.
This seemed like a good option since it works with the outlets that have screws at the top and bottom instead of the middle. But once I got it out of the box I immediately noticed the cheap construction. A few well-placed kicks from my toddler pop this thing right open. And the push-tab that keep the cover locked in place is really flimsy. It was showing significant wear after just the couple times I tried it during the install. Don’t even consider this if you are planning to open and close it often. I moved it to a location behind a crib (to protect it from kicks), so we’ll see how long it holds up to curious young hands. I suspect the single push-tab will be figured out in all of 30 seconds as soon as my toddler sees it.
