Saving my carpet
Saving my carpet under my kiddos highchair and very easy to wipe up. No staining from variety of foods, still looks great after 5 months
Finally found as close to a perfect splat mat as possible after a lot of trial and error. We first tried the reusable soft cloth type mat, of which there are many options. That was machine washable but very difficult to clean day to day in between cycles. And it was very flimsy. Itâs not realistic to machine wash it every day or after every meal. Next we tried the disposable kind, which was great in terms of not needing to clean them, but it only lasted a meal or two before needing to be thrown away. The disposable ones are good for eating out, but too costly for full-time home use. Next, we tried a heavy duty rubber mat from Weathertech, thinking itâd be easy to clean. That was probably the worst one because it wasnât machine washable and was very difficult to hand clean due to the rubber material. And it was heavy and thick so hard to move around or pack.Then, finally, we tried this vegan leather one. It really is the best of all worlds: machine washable, easy to hand clean between cycles, easy to pack, and relatively aesthetically pleasing (as much as a splat may can be). If youâre in the market for a splat mat for a messy little eater, I highly recommend this one!

Got this for under my bird cage. So much better than paper and you can clean it up easily. The mat stays in place mostly when I move cage to other spots in the house.I have Mexican Saltillo tile and the mat matches great!
So you need a splat mat to put under your kid’s high chair. What could be so hard? Well, here it is: most splat mats are marketed “machine washable” like it’s a good thing. ERRRR! WRONG! Friends. You do a lot of laundry, am I right? Do you relish the idea of washing a splat mat a few nights a week? It will need to be on its own cycle because gross, and then you’ll have to run a tub clean cycle afterward to get all the yucky bits of soggy food out. YOU WANT A WIPEABLE MAT. This mat is not only wipeable, but also relatively aesthetically pleasing (as far as these things go), AND I vaguely remember the packaging said it’s made in the USA. Winner winner, chicken dinner.
Definitely a great dupe for the Gathre mats. I didn’t want to spend close to $100 for a mat, but I also didn’t want the other gimicky bright colored ones that was sold online. I wanted something affordable and aesthetically pleasing. This was great! The size was great for my little one in the high chair. I would recommend placing the mat as a diamond shape and centering the highchair over it so that when baby reaches over the side and drops food the corner will catch it.The mat is easy to wipe down, and fold up or hang up if you want. I recommend spot cleaning with warm water and soap. If the lines from the packaging bother you, you can place a towel over the mat and gently/ lightly steam the mat to get rid of the lines.I can see my little one using it when they are older as well.Overall would recommend.
