This product is perfect for our blind zebra finch. He needed somewhere warm and cozy to sleep at night. I like the fact that made of silicone so that you can clean it.
Cute, but I wouldn’t use it for hamsters
This is a really cute little hidey house, but there are a few problems with it. The chemical smell took a week to fade out enough to put it in my gecko’s enclosure, and even though she’s light, it still caves in slightly when she stands on top of it. I can’t imagine it supporting the weight of a hamster, and it definitely will not fit a guinea pig. I’d also be concerned about rodent pets chewing on the silicone.It’s about the thickness of a silicone baking pan in some spots.

This is the Mini Silicone Guinea Pig Hideout, Washable Hamster Bed Cave, Cute Cozy Small Animal House Cage Habitat for Pet Bunny Hedgehogs Chinchillas Dwarf Rabbit Turtle Spiders Ferrets Bearded Dragons Rats Nest. This is an adorable little food grade silicone pumpkin shaped house for a small rodents and animals. When you first open this package there is quite a strong smell, but after leaving it sit out for a while a gas off pretty nicely and just be on the safe side I gave it a good scrub in the sink with some Palmolive dish soap and let it dry and it came out perfectly with no odor. Because this is food grade silicone it is known toxic so if it does get chewed it won’t hurt your small animal. My hamster seems to really love this as it is soft sided and she can Ram it full of all kinds of chewed up Kleenex and bedding lol. The other thing I think is that because it is a silicone base it holds the heat in nicely and it keeps your pet nice and warm and safe from drafts or moisture. This is a really detailed cute little house it does look just like a little pumpkin house. I read in another review being in the box, I did not experience this but if I did I would run this under very hot water and reshape it by hand and that should do it. Silicone is very forgiving soft and easy to work with. I’ve never had a hamster house that was washable before and this is so great because if it does get dirtied with hamster excrement you can easily rinse it and wash it in the sink with your soap. I think this is a great idea and my animal loves it so I can definitely recommend this.
Cannot be reshaped
Is small, but it came into a much smaller box, cannot be reshaped, totally unusable and also has a very strong chemical odour.
Smells awful!
So disappointed! I wanted to love this but the smell is so strong itâs caused me headaches and even washing it several times AND airing it outside for 2 days couldnât diminish the smell. It smells like plastic and chemicals. I will definitely not be using it for my pets. Itâs well made, cute, and looks as described but the smell is so strong that the product is a hard no for me. Clothes peg in picture is for size. Wouldnât recommend.
Cute ideal but the material is soft and deformed
This product arrived the next day via Amazon Prime and was well packaged within a cardboard box.PROS-This is a cute shaped tree trunk with cartoonish elements.-The material is soft silicone.-This item is easy to clean as you can simply run it under hot water.-Available in two different styles.CONS-Ours was a bit wonky upon arrival because of how it was packaged and it unfortunately never fully filled out.-I purchased the large version for a baby hedgehog and the opening is way too small. This is ideal for a small hamster, gerbil or mouse.-The asking price of $18 CAD seems a bit high. Personally, I feel as though $10-15 CAD is more fair for a product such as this, but admittedly, I feel like many products are overpriced these days.
No where big enough for a guinea pig, bunny, hedgehog or chinchilla
I grabbed this thinking it may work for our guinea pig as the listing clearly says guinea pig in the title. It is way to small for an adult guinea pig(I should have double checked the measurements before ordering). I guess it would work for a baby guinea pig. It smells horrible. I had to wash in hot soapy water then put it outside for a few days to take the smell out .Half the animals the title lists it will not work for.If the animal did fit it would be easy to clean however Id be concerned they may be able to chew it.
