Seems reasonably accurate
Accuracy seems pretty good on this one — compared to an oral thermometer both when feeling fine and when someone in the household had a fever. I had another model previously that always showed the same temperature even when the person had an obvious fever, this one showed the correct temperature. The object temperature mode is surprisingly useful, I used it to check the temperature of various rooms/walls.

If you can get this thermometer turned on it works well.Problem is turning it on.If you just push the on button you’ll get ERR signal.If you look it up they say hold for three seconds….well did this and still got the ERRsignal.After a dozen and half attempts is turned on.With a well known name of motorola…putting out a piece of junk like thisis astonishing.Don’t buy this item.
quick and easy, not intrusive
When I first tried to use the thermometer all I was getting was “Err” error. Was about to return it but decided to try a few more times. Put my finger over the sensor and and turned it on, it worked! No issues since. Took sample readings on the 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids aged 3, 5, 7) and took readings with our trusty ear thermometer. Readings for each person were very similar for the 2 devices. Just be sure to only have the device 1-2 cm away from forehead. That isn’t very far. The pictures displayed are a lot further away which can be deceiving. Cool how it can read objects as well. I tried it on the room air, food, and drinks. Got expected readings.

It is a nice thermometer that help me monitor my sonâs temperature. I like its silent mode as my son easily startled with noise.

Got a deal on this and for the money I paid, so far I’m impressed. Very nice no-contact thermometer. Easy to use but you do need to read the brief manual so you understand the modes. If it’s not in the right mode (i.e. person or something other than a person) then you will get an inaccurate reading. It also has a night/sleep/silent mode to keep from beeping if you want.
I’m in Healthcare so I need an accurate thermometer. Among my 5 thermometers, this one is the most consistently accurate. It’s fast and simple to use. And it has the biggest screen of all my thermometers (although, I don’t own the gun-style thermometers). My only critique is I wish it had a target light on it, so I can quickly see where it’s pointing. Time is of the essence in Healthcare. Also, wish it came with a pouch or case for sanitary reasons and just to protect it when its not in use. Hope Motorola reads this. It would be a perfect product with those 2 added features. Wouldn’t mind paying a little more for it.
Don’t hesitate and get it! I have no complaints it works as it should. Its been so hot this summer (we live in Hawaii) so I’m constantly taking my newborns temperature. The temperatures are consistent and when I test it with pointing in the air it reads appropriate air temp.
For what I bought it for, monitoring my and my wife’s temperature, it works fine. I liked the addition of the feature where it can silence itself in a dark room however the room needs to be pitch black for this to work. Good thing my wife is a deep sleeper.
Toddlers wiggle out of everything, especially if you touch them with something LOL! So this was perfect, I got a temp and he doesnât even know whatâs up!Seems accurate and Iâm very happy with it. Bought a second one for grandmas house.
