Purchased twice in 2019, with no regrets
Great mattress. My son sleeps well in it. Mattress is breathable, easy to clean/wash, very comfortable. We usually give our son the bottle while in his crib.. so there has been disasters with milk being everywhere⦠we took off the covers and put them in a washing machine and dryer. 2 hours later brand new crib mattress.We were travelling back and forth from Toronto to Vancouver before the pandemic.. and so we had purchased two⦠now the extra mattress is for guests and their babies that stay over⦠gotten many compliments and questions on where to purchase this mattress⦠one said it would usually take them hours to put their son to sleep and one night on this mattress their son fell asleep immediately after.Donât think twice about purchasing this mattress.Itâs one of my few favourites/recommendations for newborns/babies!Trust me you wonât regret it.
Peace of mind investment
My 18-month old has been sleeping on the Newton mattress since he was born. He typically sleeps on his tummy. We also have the waterproof cover as well, which i also recommend in case of accidents. As new parents, we purchased the Newton mattress and the extra waterproof cover for the peace of mind and practical features. The mattress fits very well in the basic Ikea crib we got. We use the breathable muslin sheets from Lulu Lolipop (so soft!!), Aden + Anais, and from Amazon (great value but a bit loose). This mattress also seems to keep our little one cool. On cold winter evenings we sometimes use a thicker warm fitted sheet now that our child can roll over and reposition easily. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone who is considering a breathable, washable and comfortably firm baby mattress.
Itâs perfect
I am not sure if I received the waterproof one in error or this is actually for the waterproof one. The ad seems to be for the regular one and thatâs what I thought I bought, but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and it was in fact the waterproof one. Itâs an excellent mattress, seems really high quality. Fits my standard crib perfectly. Was packaged really well. Love the peace of mind it gives me that my baby is safe if he rolls over in the night. Itâs firm but also soft and my 6 month old slept through the night on it first night we switched it out so he seems good with it too. I went with the grey just in case it gets stained it would hide it better than white would I think. Really like the cloud design on the cover as well, very cute. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a breathable mattress or a new parent worried about carbon dioxide poisoning/SIDS.
AMAZING
We bought this mattress before our baby has been born, but it definitely lives up to itâs expectations! It is so so sooo breathable – I wouldnât feel comfortable having bought any other mattress once we got a good look at this one.Whenever company comes over, I show them how breathable it is by planting my face firmly down on it and taking a couple of huge, deep breaths. Honestly like breathing through nothing!The cover also slips off and on very easily once you unzip the zipper. The mattress itself is also very comfortable-feeling. It is a good mix between firm and soft – like any baby mattress should be.Seriously worth the money for it. I justify the cost in my head by remembering that I would rather pay the extra bit of money than to risk my baby turning over in the night and suffocating.

Love the fact that this mattress is 100% breathable. I had done a ton of research before landing on newton baby mattress. I saw it available on Amazon and right away placed the order. It was easy to setup and clean 🙂
Great breathable mattress for our tummy sleeper
Great mattress. Our son is a face down tummy sleeper so this has been great for putting my mind at ease. Iâve tested with the cover it comes with, plus the waterproof cover added and a sheet as well and I can still breath through it with my face pressed hard against this mattress.It did come with a slight plastic/chemical odour as some have noted. But I cleaned the mattress as per instructions. I put it into the shower and rinsed it off with some vinegar. Also machine washed the covers. No smell after that. Cleaning it was easy as well.It is pricey but after seeing for myself how breathable it is I am okay with the cost. I just hope it will hold up over time.
Folds easily inside – Good customer service
I wanted to really love this mattress but when I went to take the mattress out of the crib to add sheets, the mattress bent in the middle easily and now has a dent on one side and a bubble on the other as it creased. So now my baby will have an uncomfortable mattress when he gets bigger and positioned over that section in the middle. Disappointing as the mattress was very expensive. Just handle with ease.UPDATE: I had put through a warranty claim and someone from their customer service reached out to me and I was approved to receive a new one (and ship the defective one back). This mattress is much better and my little one is able to sleep better. They have GREAT customer service (even if live in Canada you can put a claim in when they’re based in USA).Great all surfaces and layers can be washed–though I don’t see myself needing to wash the inside mattress itself but rather the covers–nice it can though.I bumped up my original 2 star to 4 star rating.
Worth every penny
Our baby only wanted to sleep on us until we go this mattress.Super easy to clean which is a serious benefit, too!
Our little man will only sleep on his side and has started to roll over in his sleep on his tummy. Since he can roll back over we were told it’s ok, but he face plants sometimes which is scary. We found this mattress and immediately got it and love it. We put our faces against it and you CAN breath through it. Very easy to take off, wash, and put back on the breathable mattress cover. Also comfortable, little man sleeps through the night on it. Definitely worth the money for our peace of mind. Fits our crib perfect and it’s very light and sturdy.
This mattress has greatly improved my 13 month old’s sleep! It keeps her cool throughout the night with its breathable material and it’s very easy to clean.
Love this crib mattress so much I’ve bought 2 so both kids will have one.The BEST factor for a parent is this ENTIRE thing can be dismantled & washed. No more vomit or poo caught in a crease or embedded in the fabric or material. I already had to completely take it apart to clean it 2 weeks after our purchase for an early morning vomit explosion from our child & I could throw all the materials in the washer & hose the inner block with our shower sprayer. There is absolutely no smell or staining left over. I replaced our previous crib mattress with this because of the washable factor & it seems our child sleeps better on this one as the other was too stiff & had too much of a crinkle sound when she moved around. The Newton is both firm enough for a newborn/toddler while still having enough give that it doesn’t feel like laying on a board. Plus it gives peace of mind if they roll over face down. You can breathe right through it with ease. This mattress will be ideal when going through the potty training phase as well for the cleaning factor. Super happy with this purchase even though it was an investment.
I caved and bought this mattress for the âbreathabilityâ. Itâs a nice firm non smelling mattress. Iâm a bit paranoid with my ârainbowâ baby so I went for it. Itâs not bad and I sleep comfortably knowing my little is in it.
Baby is not here yet so I canât speak to the breathable features in the mattress but will say it is just as described. The mattress feels and looks very high quality.
