Great mattress
Our baby started sleeping face down. I know all mattresses are made to a certain standard. But when I smoosh my face into this mattress vs his old hand me down mattress, there is a difference. I can breath right through the mattress comfortably. It did give me peace of mind upgrading to this mattress. Others mention this company/concept is preying on people, but I did feel there was a difference compared to my older mattress I had for my son, so it was well worth it for me personally!

I am not sure why there are other reviews claiming of strong chemical smell, maybe a fake? The plastic they use is same as the plastic used for milk jugs and food safe.Mine came quickly completely sealed and upon unsealing it there is ZERO smell, just a clean breathable firm mattress thatâs is washable. Happy with the purchase! Only downside I can think of is that itâs slightly on the pricey side.
Pricey but worth the investment for your baby.
It’s not your usual crib mattress, but that’s why you’re buying it. A total upgrade for baby’s safety and comfort and parents’ easy cleaning.
Perfect mattress
The mattress is soft but firm. My husband and I are able to sleep peacefully knowing our baby girl is safe on her crib.
Purchased in May 2020 – No Smell
My baby is due in September but we purchased this in advance to have the room set up for when he arrives. I wanted a chance to let it air out or clean it in case there was in fact a smell. There wasn’t. It fit super snug in the crib and it’s easy to tell which side is for toddler, and which is for baby. Love it so far. I’ll try to update once baby arrives.

I am obsessed with this mattress for a number of reasons. One, the mattress comes with a fitted cover with a zipper, a standard/newborn side and waterproof/toddler side and it is soft like fabric, not like plastic like on other mattresses that make the mattress âwaterproof â so when my child moves around on it it doesnât make that plastic sound every time he moves. The cover is also machine washable so you can take it off and throw it in the washing machine just hang it up to air dry (it is recommended not to put in the dryer). Another feature I absolutely love is the mattress itself. The mattress itself is a firm rubber/plastic type mesh material that is also waterproof so if for example if the waterproof side of your mattress is down and it gets wet, you can literally just take the cover off and hose the mattress down (I did mine in the shower) and let it air dry. No springs , no foam, no cotton or padding of any kind and yet it is comfortable and my two under two love them. I have had to hose mine off once since I got my first one and it was dry before bedtime. My first mattress I got as a baby shower gift. I loved it so much that I bought my second one for my second baby so now they both have one. They are definitely on the pricier side but from mine and that of my kids experiences Iâd say it was totally worth it. If I were to have another baby before my two kids go to twin beds I will definitely be buying another one. If not I will at least be keeping my current ones for future use.
My third little one is almost 5 months old and has been sleeping in her bassinet in our downstairs master. She’s been rolling from back to belly since 12 weeks, but she still won’t roll from her belly to her back. The risk of SIDS worries me to insanity. I woke up in the middle of the night a few nights ago to find her sleeping on her belly against the sides of her bassinet, and it’s safe to say I haven’t slept since. It seems that since she rolled over that night, side sleeping and belly sleeping are the positions she goes to right away. I don’t recall my two older girls ever doing that, so I used a cheapy “normal” crib mattress and had the same ready for this babe.I could not shake the ideas of 1. letting her continue sleeping in her bassinet, even though it has breathable mesh sides or 2. putting her upstairs in her own room with the vinyl (yes, vinyl) mattress I’d gotten for her second-hand. Like I mentioned, my first two girls never seemed to like sleeping on their bellies and they had regular cotton mattresses, so I never thought anything of it when I got the cheap mattress this go-round.I decided to bite the bullet and get this mattress purely for the peace of mind it would give me. I was dumbfounded at how truly breathable it is. The first thing I did was put my face into it and take a nice deep breath – there was virtually no obstruction. The relief I felt was insane. I put the crib sheet on the mattress and actually think I’ll leave it off, especially considering the Newton mattress is completely washable. I was surprised at how much of a difference it made with airflow after I put the sheet on, so I will likely just end up getting an extra cover.
The Newton mattress gave me the best peace of mind that I could have had. As a mom with ppa, this was by far one of the best purchases I made. I personally smushed my face against it and could not believe how well I could breathe through the mattress. It was AMAZING. I love the quality, I love the mattress protector, and well I just love everything about it. My baby also has had acid reflux for the past 8 months and this is so easy to clean! Taking it apart is even easier. Now, it is pricy and there are other infant mattresses available that go through the same testing. BUT this is the best and nobody can change my mind about it.
Oh my gosh. The difference between the Newton mattress and one you go buy at a store like Walmart is like 100 to 1. No wonder my baby wasnât sleeping good she would toss and turn and cry. I felt the difference between the two mattresses and I cannot believe I ever bought that mattress from Walmart. This is a hundred percent worth the money because who can put a price on safety and comfort. Like this mattress is not only amazingly comfy but itâs a hundred percent breathable which is the main goal. My little one started turning over so we had to remove her baby sleeper pad and she was so uncomfortable crying all night long. This mattress fixed everything sheâs comfy safe and well rested now. I mother of three 100 percent recommend this and wish I had had it for my other two littles. 🙂 and to address the reviews saying it stinks or itâs hard to cleanâ¦. Iâm not sure if you got a bad one or what but mine does not stink I washed everything and itâs all good. I one hundred percent would buy this again. My baby has been sleeping (safely) through the night since day one. Sheâs A belly sleeper and I was so worried about her not being able to breath through that cheap plastic bed I bought at the store but I put my mouth the the newton and I could breath so easy. Thank you all for making this bed! I sleep with ease now 🙂
My baby girl loves to sleep with her nose close to the mattress, so this was a no brainer. It lives up to the hype and if you are a worried parent as I am, this is worth EVERY penny. The mattress is high quality and I love the fact that I can wash it whenever I need to. You can find muslin crib sheets cheaper than the Newton ones (see my review on those) and I recommend doing so since the mattress itself is rough. Getting sheets that are not highly breathable (such as cotton) also make this a pointless purchase. I highly recommend this mattress for anyone. In the end, itâs a small price to pay for a peace of mind and having a mattress that is 100% washable!
