Very useful, stable, the gate works, good value
Pros: does not damage hard wood floors, packable and light enough to be easily moved around the house, can also be taken apart into smaller sections to block doorways etc. (I use this for a pup), it looks nicer than I thought, sturdy, nice to have a gate and btw this gate works well, reviewers who broke it probably didn’t read the instructions, it’s a two-step process to open and close it, the pen is stronger than I expected and good enough for my use (I train my pup not to jump it or chew it, and put him in metal and higher pen when he is alone at home.Cons: 1) it takes some effort to fold the panels because there is resistance at the hinges, they click in and out of little slots, HOWEVER, this resistance at the hinges is also what gives the pen it’s stability, so I am fine with that. 2) opening and closing the gate requires two hands (the picture is misguiding). I still like having that gate. Conclusion: thank you North States, this is a very useful product.
Perfect enclosure for a new puppy
Being used to contain a rambunctious Golden retriever puppy, and it works well. Puppy is 4 months old and in another 2-3 months this may not do the job as he is getting bigger quickly. But it keeps the puppy contained when the family room is in use and he is being too excited in his play. For a while we used it with a square formation (left two panels out), but now as he is getting bigger, we have all panels in use and the gate too. We are using it as a rectangle formation. Its big enough to have his blanket and toys inside and not too cramped when he sleeps with his long legs all stretched out. He prefers to be in this enclosure to his crate, which he only goes into at night for sleeping. And yes, good price on Amazon.
Works Great
This product is sold at Costco and Toys-r-us as well. Gets great reviews. We bought with the two piece expansion pack. If you follow the instructions and get a good bed at each corner, it’s pretty sturdy. We found all the holes in the plastic mess to be smooth. Out 8 month year old like to put his fingers through and pull him self up. When he’s frustrated by being alone (when we are cooking for example) and he sees us from across the room, he sometimes rocks the top back and forth. But it’s going no where. He’s “slide” down the sides and banged his head on it. Nothing seems so sharp that he’s injuries. We are super happy with the product.I paid full price so didn’t get bribed the discount to write a good review
Like playing with a mousetrap every time you adjust it!
I can believe the mixed reviews… if you set up and leave up, is ok. And with angles between each panel it is fairly sturdy… (hexagon sort of thing). but the latches between panels are difficult to use (my wife can’t…) and trying to get it the right shape was an ordeal… kept trapping fingers.I happy it keeps the little one safe, but I wouldn’t buy again. Cheap plastic too (cracked), as others have said.Overall, quite disappointed, compared to expectations, especially as I bought two…
Perfect!
Perfect!Great quality, easy to use, and very stable. Great in one piece (a hexagonal play yard), and also great to use individually or 2 or more pieces together to fence off areas such as televisions and bookshelves. My son LOVES the colours and doesn’t seem like he feels trapped. And at 11 months, it ia very easy for him to grab the sides to pull himself to standing and practice walking. They also fold together flat, with a strap to hold them together. They are easy to carry and take up very little space, so great for taking with you!I use them now inside ans can’t wait to try them outdoors next summer!I recommend these to everyone with a crawling or walking baby/toddler!
Awesome!!! Recommended it to all my friends!
Best baby jail ever!— I mean, it was one of the best baby purchases I had made. This was perfect for my daughter when she was crawling so I could have a time to make dinner after she outgrew the Jumperoo. After a week or so, my daughter would start pulling herself up on the gate which helped her learn to stand and of course, eventually furniture surf and walk. We only used it for a couple months and ended up needing more room for her to crawl and move around. The gates come apart and they were great to use in other parts of the home like blocking her from opening bins on a shelf, accessing the fireplace, keeping her secure in a baby safe area. When we took the gates apart, we needed to support it with heavy pieces of furniture and objects to prevent it from falling over or falling on our daughter when she pulled and yanked at it but you find ways to make it stay and work. I recommended this to all my friends when I first had it and I would still recommend it to others. The only con I have about the product is opening and closing the door. I guess it’s great it’s difficult to open so your child can’t open it but on the other hand, it’s not very convenient. I found myself walking over it every time because I couldn’t be bothered with the door.
Product is ok but needs refinement for child use
We bought this fenced yard so our child could play in safety. It came pretty much assembled in great colours, with a storage strap and my child quite likes it. After my child played in it a few times within 2 days managed to scratch his head on the lower lip of the fence panels (its a straight 90 degree edge). He was crawling around in it reached a bit to far for a toy and fell forward into the lower lip of the fence panel scratching his forehead. This company should consider rounding the edges on its panels if its marketing its products towards babies. It would be fine to use this design for fencing an animal in, but not a baby or small child.
Great product
In general, very good product. Could say that the sturdyness needs just a bit more help as these kids are strong!
I own 3 of these playpens for our 3 rabbits’ playpens. These work really well, only wish they were about 6 or 7 inches taller for our jumpers. One of my recent playpens arrived with a broken gate piece. The packaging was intact, so not sure why the piece was broken. I contacted the North States Industries customer service number. A representative answered immediately, took my information, and within 3 days, I had a brand new gate (not the entire playpen). I very much appreciated the amazing, hassle-free, super friendly customer service! That’s how customer service should be (but unfortunately isn’t these days).
This was exactly what I wanted for my daughter and grandson’s visit to our house. I’ll have to admit she told me exactly what to get because they have the same thing at their house for Kent to play in. He is getting more and more mobile these days so this provided a safe place for him and his toys to play.
Bought this fence to keep the baby from going into the kitchen while I cooked and from touching the fireplace when in use. It works fine. It was a little hard to put together and took up a lot of the living room (Which I kind of predicted).
We love this play yard! It’s super easy to set up and take down. The travel strap makes toting it a breeze. We added the extra panels to give our daughter a little extra room! A definite must buy for all parents of mobile children!! Makes baby-proofing your home a slice of pie! 😉
Not well made ð
