Great little book!
Sure it’s a tiny, kind of old school book. But it’s inexpensive, cute, and durable. My 5 month old loves lifting the flaps in this simple book. There are quite a few pages to keep her entertained, and it’s small to tuck in your diaper bag or stroller.
Perfect for toddlers
I love that this book is perfect for small and is a favourite in my house.
Strong flaps! Perfect size for my 10 month old
My son loves flap books. This one is amazing as the flaps are really strong and donât rip (the other flimsy books he tends to rip and destroy them). Itâs also a tiny little book and he loves to hold it on his own.Must get for kids!
Our baby’s favourite!
Our son loved this book & it got used to much that you can see the wear. We had to buy a 2nd one! The pocket version is awesome, because we could easily transport it in the diaper bag or car without taking space. The illustrations are colourful with flaps to explore hidden farm animals. Considering the amount of times these flaps got pulled opened and held up, I’d say it’s made pretty good!
Loved it
So happy that grandson loved it.
tiny
very cute .. but very very tiny . only 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches .. I didn’t realize it would be so small
Inconsistent teaching and flaps are flimsy
So for such a chunky book, I expected stronger and thicker flaps. But theyâre quite flimsy and that makes it really hard to open for a toddler. And isnât that the point of this kind of book? So they can be involved? So this sounds petty, but at this age, I think consistency in teaching is important, and maybe itâs just me and how I learned sounds, but there are a few small inconsistencies that I didnât think were a big deal but bothered me after a while, especially when my daughter kept getting it âwrongâ because, yes, a horse says âneighâ but not in this book. Itâs a pony. And cat doesnât go mew-mew to me. I would say âmeow.â And on that page, it asks âWho says mew-mew?â Under the flap there is a cat and kittens but the answer is âCatsâ. On the last page it asks âWho says hoot?â I would personally say âwho whoâ or something, not hoot, but whatever. You open the flimsy flap and it shows two owls but the answer is âan owlâ. But thereâs two!And why does a dog say woof-woof and a cat says mew-mew but everything else is a single sound (moo, peep, oink). And ducks say quack. Again, ducklings is technically right, but a duck would be better for teaching. That all sounds petty but these are the basics and it just seems slightly off. Maybe thatâs the noises someone else would teach but itâs just not for me. Itâs in the details and it just seems like no one was paying attention when putting together this book or else maybe itâs written for somewhere else that teaches these noises. Iâm not sure.
My niece is obsessed.
This is the only book she wants to read. I canât even tell you how many times Iâve had to make animal sounds now. I walk in and say hi to her, she plops this book on my lap and stares at me until I read it to her. Reading this book has become my part-time job. I should get paid at this point.
A very good book for children, opens, closes, looks at what is inside
