As Described
Decent quality and does work well to help secure open outlets. I like how these add a more modern style to my older oval electrical outlets and they do function as expected to close off the sockets when not in use. The only issue with the oval outlet is that the cover sits nearly 2 cm away from the socket, which means that if you plug something in, it will not be as secure and can be pulled out quite easily, defeating the purpose. Unless you plan to use these on outlets that are only used on occasion, a child could unplug a cord, and the socket would be exposed. I think a square outlet would be about the same. The latch system is a bit difficult to slide so it will definitely serve its purpose to block open sockets while not in use, where an infant/child should not be able to open it.

Didn’t work on my outlets
I tried these on four different outlets in my approximately 50 year old condo. Unfortunately they didn’t work as intended. They are the correct size and dimensions, but the main issue is that when I slide the plug covers shut, they either fall off and become stuck behind the main cover plate, or the little piece that you use to slide the covers shut becomes stuck in the closed position and won’t slide back to the open position.They have to be completely flush up against the electrical sockets or they won’t work. In my old condo the outlets/sockets have a tiny bit of give to them – when you push on them they move in very slightly (like 1 or 2 mm). When I tightened the outlets to eliminate this give, they were too far into the wall for these covers to work effectively (the piece that slides over to cover the sockets falls off when it’s moved over all the way).This is unfortunate and it’s very likely these covers will work on newer homes with electrical outlets that are perfectly flush with the surrounding drywall. In general they are well-made and as I said the dimensions and size are accurate.
Protection guaranteed!
When your young ones start discovering their humble abode, as well as their hands, these certainly add a peace of mind knowing prying fingers are safe from harm. Knowing your kid is safe from any harm is worth more than any amount, evidently. Very easy to install, especially if you have already removed an outlet panel. Great design and fit for any standard North American outlet. Works great and is easy to remove… but why remove it at all? The option is appreciated, young and old!
Returned – Design flaw
The little sliders that cover the outlet face, simply fall off. If the way they were attached were mirrored they would hold the tab when closed and fall out when open (which would be a nuisance too, but at least functional). Doesn’t properly do the one thing I bought it for, close off an outlet/receptacle.
Sliding cover falls off
Got these outlet covers to baby proof my house and the concept is nice but these ones simply don’t. They are the right size but the covers fall off very easily which renders them useless for the purpose of baby proofing. I don’t know how these passed quality control as every single one of them I got in the package falls off.
Works as intended
These are great. It works as intended. Was able to install them over my sockets. I’m just not sure how much better this is compared to other options. With this you would have to replace all the plates and faces and you only get four outlets. So It’s not the most time and cost effective way to baby proof. This could be good if you also have pets and are worried about them getting into the sockets. However, I find that they will find other ways to hurt themselves more than stick their paws into sockets. So while an interesting method and great if you are renovating your home anyways. but a lot of work compared to other baby proofing methods.
Very functional and perfect for houses with kiddosEasy installation
I have a 3yr old and a 4month old â¦. My 3yr old is very curious and has already shove food in the outlets and Iâm sure the baby is soon to follow. These covers fit our standard outlets and weâre super easy to install in their room. I like that itâs has the slide function, but my 3yr old has almost figured it out. Because itâs not easy for her to slide itâs been a huge deterrent! Peace of mind!
I was skeptical about these covers but I like them more than the ones you plug into the outlet. These are easy to install and easy to use. They are compatible with most outlets. Locking and unlocking them work great. I wish they came in different colors to match the interior of my kitchen.
These are a really great alternative to the little plastic covers you push into outlet holes. They’re less conspicuous and are easy for adults to use. A toddler could probably figure them out if they were left to mess with them long enough, but most of our outlets aren’t that easy to get to anyway.
