I take these with us when we go camping or to the park for a hike. I can leave the windows down part way or fully, cover them with these, and still get airflow without coming back to a bunch of bugs in the car. I can also leave my animal in the car in a shaded area on a not-too-hot day while we run into a store. These are great for many different times where I want the jeep to be cooled off a bit when we return, but I don’t want the doors fully removed or the windows left completely open. Although they say you can drive with them, I do not feel they are the best for visibility or for my paint while driving.
When I first took these out of the bag, my expectations dropped. They looked and felt like a cheap pair of women’s nylon stockings. But once I tried them on my Jeep, my mind was changed. They are easy to install; just slip them over the door and the window. They are also easy to store; ball them up and place them under the seat.. and they work. It has been around 107 degrees here the last few days, and these have made a big difference. I was pleasantly surprised and happy I got these.
Ok
This is a pair of stretchy screen mesh window covers. They are properly sized and shaped for fitting the windows in a Jeep JK-style vehicle. My hubby said they slid onto his Jeep easily and provide a good level of sun glare reduction while still being able to see out clearly. The ability to open and close the window is not hampered in the least, so he can get a nice breeze from outside when he wants one.
These two shades come with no instructions for installation, which makes it somewhat difficult to figure out.The shades slip over the entire doorframe and you have to pull them down over the window. A strap is on the bottom corner of each one, which I’m assuming is meant to fit over the rearview mirror. When you pull the strap over the mirror, the seam does not line up properly around the doorframe. They work better without the strap. One other problem is that they are much too opaque to drive with them installed. These shades are more like black support hose or dancing tights. Under no circumstances would I drive with these over the window for fear of having a car accident. Much too dark to see through properly! Finally, when I attempt to shut my car door with the shades on, my car is telling me that the door is ajar because the fabric is too thick to allow the door to close properly. That’s a great way to drain the car battery. All in all, this product simply doesn’t work on any level.
