Poor Quality craftmanship and damaged / Failure to clearly state assembly and steps
This piece is heavily damage and should not have left the manufacturing floor. Others have noted this yet those reviews from 2023 are hard to find. The several spindles are heavy marked with deep groves that will snag clothing and skin. The spindles are not sanded and there are splinters. This is a huge safety concern. The seams are not flush, one is slightly raised, others have gaps. Multiple corner edges have deep chips in them down wood board. There is a giant chip at the top front middle panel that about 2 inches in length and 1/2 a inch wide. The smooth surface was chipped off and instead of rejecting the board your workers painted over the damage to hide it. In several area the black plant and smooth surface is chipped. There is several glue spills. The metal clamps brackets are not properly attached and askew. The hardware sticking out on all panels and several seams; again likely to damage a child or pet. This product is dangerous at it was shipped to me. There are numerous bumps, chips and marks.The package arrived in good condition so I would say this is a manufacturing defect. Since this is a quality control issues I feel I should not be inconvenience by returning it without compensation for my time. I should not have to pay to return like you have made others. My dog has a large following and I frequently review products on her group. I hope to report a happy solution. I am open to suggestions on how to make this right. The gate looks heavily used – it looks like a free item at a junk store. Not an items that is almost $100.00.Now I found the pre-drilled hole while documented the damage. It took me a long time to find them. I did not find the instructions clear about attaching the hinges on the side. The instructions needs to be improved. The ad needs to clearly state assembly and buyers need to review this assembly. I did not know it required assembly until I purchased it. I later looked on the ad and it took me 5min to find assembly is required. Anyone reading this the pre-drilled holes are on the side.The last issues is according to amazon and the updates. The black and white gate were shipped together. According to amazon and fedex both gates are in-transit neither gate has arrived. So I am confused as why I was shipped a defective and heavily damaged gate when it states I am still to receive both gates.I am hoping this heavily damaged gate was sent in error and good quality black gate will arrive with the white one. I am hoping I can report Pawhut either refunded or reshipped the damaged gate without putting a greater burden on me. For now I will submit this review and wait. I will hold off on letting my dog’s many followers now what has happened. I really want to write a good review as I seriously love the design.
wooden support broke immediately
The gate looks nice, and easy to put together. However one of the support feet split and broke within the first 2 days. Had to glue it and then tape it but works fine now. Very light wood. Overall happy with how it works and looks
