Better than using your phone
We originally had a used one but have since purchased a few as baby shower gifts.You could definitely use an app on your phone to do the things this does, but we found it SO helpful because it was available to both me and my partner, otherwise only one of us would be timing things on a phone and the other is excluded. Example, me, exhausted and napping and my partner wondering how long it’s been since baby fed….he doesn’t need to ask me, he just checks this, realizes baby will be waking in 10 minutes, (since using this we realized baby wakes every 2.5 hrs) he starts making a bottle and leaves me napping.It was a game changer for me. And we still have the used one, which still works after 10+ years.

As a person who constantly misplaces or forgets to charge their phone, I knew I could use something else to keep me on track during the foggy first couple of months having newborn babies. This thing was great to wake me up, remind me to give meds, and served as a flashlight many times. Very useful little invention!
Indispensable for Twins
I had twins ten weeks ago, and this gadget has been my constant companion ever since. In the fog of sleep deprivation, itâs the only things that allows me to keep track of who I fed and when. HIGHLY recommended for new parents of multiples, but I think it would have been very useful with my singletons as well. Great product!

There is no getting around having to record these important times. Sometimes it seems like you just fed the kid and really it’s already been 3 hours. With some serious sleep deprivation, it really helps to have something simple. It’s basically 4 timers in one with each one allowing you to set a max time where it will give you a reminder alarm. For the low cost it’s totally worth trying. It will probably become my new shower gift.

This product is brilliant. I bought it due to my phone playing up so thought the great apps you can get nowadays (baby tracker etc,) would be unreliable – this is the next best thing!It has two handy lights – one white light that acts as a spot light for that moment when you need to quickly see what’s going on without blinding everyone with your room lights. You can then light up the buttons colourfully to record your actions, again, without having to turn on the room light.Once you press one of the actions, it begins to count up so you will see that in 3:06 hours (for instance) you changed the baby’s nappy or fed.Bit of advice — click the actions after you have done them and not during or just as you begin because that will give you the correct time guideline to your next feed etc (usually every 3-4 hours).You can also set reminders by holding the action down for a few seconds till it flashes OFF. Then click again and it will begin to count up to 24 hours, allowing you to set a reminder I.e 3 hours from now. It flashes, then goes back to normal and then after you complete the action click the button and it will flash red- beginning the timer (took me a while to figure out the process but that could just have been my silly brain).The timer bleeps like a regular alarm for 30 seconds. Let it run if you can and then complete your action and click it again – the remimder will start again for 3 hours from then!I tested the volume by having it in my bag as I drove and it isn’t terribly loud so best have it on you at all times as, with a crying baby or cooking, cleaning going on etc you will most likely miss it if in the other room.The * button can be used for a made up action or a reminder for all of you like and just use the others as timers ..Last thing is, you can say you fed from the right boob last or left boob. This is very handy as I know it’s common to forget. I will slide the marker to the last boob I fed so when the alarm goes I will see that on the last feed it was the left so then I can do the right!I am 37 weeks pregnant so honestly haven’t tried this out with a baby but I have tried it out for a few days to get used to it.Breast feeding :1 flaw — you can’t time the actionsI.e you can’t time how long you have been breast feeding for which is an annoying flaw as the rest is perfect.You can press the bottle button when you begin and when you finish it will say how long you have been breast feeding for but you would need to write it down somewhere then press the bottle action again to start the timer from your last feed … Might keep a little booklet.For bottle feeding this shouldn’t be a problem.Have put 5 stars in any case because that is surviving to breast feeding and perhaps personal preference
I had one of these 14 years ago with my newborn, back when it was just called an Itz Been. It was such a blessing to be able to make sure I was keeping up with all of my sonâs needs, while a sleep deprived new mother. My son was a preemie, so it was important that he ate on a schedule, to keep his weight going in the right direction. He also had colic and cried about 18 hrs a day, so at first I never knew what he needed. This little device helped keep me somewhat sane, because it helped me quickly start to zero in on his schedule for eating, how long after eating he usually needed a diaper change, and when his medications were due. I especially liked the switch to help me remember which side to nurse on first for his next feeding.This has become my go to baby gift. I had a mom, who I gifted one of these to 13 yrs ago, recently tell a new mom with her 4th child, âyou need a Pocket Nanny.â She went on to say, âPage gave me one and it was the best baby gift I received.â She said that she used it with all three of her kids. THAT made me so happy, because thatâs the kind of gift you want to give, the one they loved and they remember 13 yrs later!The Pocket Nanny is especially great if there are multiple people helping with the baby; spouse, grandparents, babysitter, daycare, because they all need to know how long âItâs Beenâ since the baby ate, had a diaper change, or slept.
