And I really like the little screwdriver; even though one commenter dinged it with a negative comment; did he/she expect German quality for this price ? It feels very good in the hand and will be useful for other applications, like my guitars. I gave this product nothing less than a well deserved 5-star rating.
They work great, but have some “lag”. Meaning it may take time to say the correct temperature
I think these fridge thermometers are nice. They seem to work pretty well, and I think that theyâre accurate enough for me. Iâve been using them as just general thermometers, to make sure that itâs the correct temperature for my plants.Hereâs a quick list of what I like about these thermometers:-They use CR2032 batteries-They come with 4 batteries (2 inside the thermometers, and 2 extras)-Comes with a screwdriver (though itâs not very good. Very plasticy)-There is a high and low function-Seems pretty accurate-Being able to see the temperatures in C and F is nice.Thereâs one complaint I have though, and thatâs that it has a little bit of âlagâ. Meaning, if you hit it with some heat, it will take some time for it to soak up that heat, and say the correct temperature. Itâs not a huge deal though, as youâre likely not going to have that many huge temperature swings.Overall, I think these thermometers are great. They seem to be pretty accurate (they both said roughly the same temperature, within about .1 degree of the other).
Large Display of Temp Make It Easy to Read, Works Great
The set comes with 2 x thermometers, 2 x spare CR2032 batteries, 2 x user manuals and a precision Philips screwdriver.When I first saw the battery in the box, I thought it wasnât installed yet, so I removed the 4 screws holding the back cover only to discover that there was already a battery installed. A device this size probably could have been designed so the battery compartment was accessible without the need of a screwdriver.The thermometer has an adjustable hook that can be used to hang the unit or rotated downwards to turn into a kickstand. It also has magnets on the back allowing it to adhere to any magnetic surface.I found the plastic on the screen very soft, so donât push down on it.The included buttons are for power on/off, changing to/from °C/°F and a CLR button to clear the max/min displayed temps. There is no way to run a calibration to ensure accuracy.I recently had a question in regard to the temp in my fridge as I noticed the condensation on a container, I placed into my fridge has started to freeze so I changed it one level so it would be slightly warmer without knowing how cold it actually is, so this is definitely something I needed to check on the temps. Since everything in my fridge is plastic/glass without any metal conveniently located to adhere the device, I adjusted the hook into a kickstand and placed it inside one of the drawers. I checked 12hrs later and found it showed my fridge was at the food safe temp of 4°C.The thermometer is safe to -20°C/4°F, so I placed it into the freezer to check on my settings as well. After 12hrs It reported the current temp as 18.7°C/65.66°F with a max of 4.6°C and a min of -18.9°C, so everything within safe standards.While in the cold, the display was fairly dim and sluggish to respond. Powering off/on took a few seconds for the display to respond, but did still function.Overall, the fridge thermometers worked great. It allows me to see the temp of my fridge and freezer to ensure the temps are cool enough will keep my food safe. Not only that, will allow me to adjust the settings so Iâm not wasting electricity to make it cooler than it needs to be as well as reduce wear and tear on the compressor. Definitely something Iâd recommend.At the time of this review, the thermometers were priced at $16.99.
