Great product ð
I’ve been looking for a gate to block my puppies so they can’t go near the front door, got tired to shooing them. Looked everywhere, Amazon had the best pricing & reviews (with videos).ð¦: very sturdy with lots of foams & shipping was quick (no prime)Product: good metal quality, lock functionality, easy to use, fits. White blends in with my house. My hallway area is 48.5″ wide & this gate extemds to 49″W which is perfect.Pricing: average, paid $55Installation: a bit confusing but not hard level. Trying to figure which gate pieces matches up then when I pressure mounted to the wall, closing that gap where the latch is was took a few minutes. In the end it worked out.Overall I would recommend!
Good gate.
This was easy to put together and worked well for keeping our elderly cat out of a room. It is well made and seems to be very durable. For our purposes I didn’t need to screw it into the wall, which I also appreciated greatly.Sadly our kitty is no longer with us and after using the gate for quite some time I was able to take it apart and put it back in the box for a future need.Note that as per the instructions it’s recommended that the included holders for the gate are screwed in place if being used for a child. If done, the gate is still easily removed if needed. My cat wouldn’t be leaning / pushing on the gate so the friction fit was good enough for me and didn’t leave any marks when removed.Recommended.
It is good but not for wide 37-40 inch
This is a good product. But if the opening between 37-40inch, better choose the non extra wide gate. my stair opening 39 inch, cannot use this one or it will be too shake.
Baby Gate
Easy to assemble. Works great for keeping dogs out of the room. The only issue I have is stubbing my toe until I got accustomed to stepping over into the other room
Does not work as advertised
I purchased this baby gate because the description claimed it fits spaces from 29 to 49 inches. My space is 42 inches, yet the gate doesnât fit. Using the large extension the gate is too wide, using the small extensions the gate does not reach. Itâs incredibly frustrating and disappointing to have a product that doesnât live up to its advertised specifications. Additionally Amazon or the company does not let me return it. I do not recommend this gate if you need a reliable fit for your space.
Functional, but not enough adjustment
Gate works as advertised and is functional. There are some design choices that don’t make sense though, and the manufacturer needs to rethink a few things for an updated model. For one, the holes on gate side for the bolts between gate and wall are not threaded; is tensioned to fit tight to wall by a nut that goes on the bolt instead. This reduces the minimum extension amount, narrowing the amount of potential adjustment.Bars on edges are also bent outward, instead of just running straight and requiring another bar, further limiting minimum extension range; I had to break the welds, remove the two bent bars, metal file flat, and touch up paint the spots to get my gate to fit where I needed it.Also,Gate comes with 2 extension pieces, one very narrow, and one quite wide. This gate could traverse a very wide gap in its current form, but I am going to have to throw out the small part in my case.Bolts beteen gate and wall were too short to use the small extension piece in my application, and if I had, gap would have been too wide to keep pets, or a small baby inside and safely out of harms way.Would make more sense to sell the base gate with several even smaller extension pieces linked together, and have an option on how many additional to order, as an ad-on to the base price of the gate if one wants a longer span. That, or allow for more range of adjustment.
Generally keeps the dogs contained where we want them
This is a pressure-mounted gate so no holes need to be drilled in the wall which is nice. It also means even unhandy people can put it together and install it without worrying about getting out a drill and making holes in the wrong places. I appreciate that part of it a lot. It’s also easy to open and close and it works well and feels solid and durable. We have been using it for years for puppies and dogs, not toddlers. There are some issues though which are not exclusive to this gate, but just pressure-mounted gates in general … they don’t hold as well as ones that are drilled in and move small amounts when pushed. With our new large puppy, she jumps up on the gate and over time is able to get it to move and open or fall. It then needs to be reinstalled and tightened. Also, it has a bar at the bottom that is present even when the door is open so my robot vacuum has to be carried into the room and cannot drive itself through. That means I can’t use the schedule function or connect the rooms in the mapping of our main floor. While this might also be the case with drilled in gates, I think the roll up ones do not have this issue. Also, this gate cannot be used at the top of the stairs. Overall, the gate has really served us well and is probably in as good a shape as it was when we first purchased it.
Easy to install
Fits staircase easily , looks good and easy to install. I like the fact that I can easily remove it when I donât need it and store it away
La reja es muy útil y fácil de armar, resiste bien los impactos de un perro mediano âlocoâ y se ajusta muy bien a diferentes tamaños de aperturas, cumple muy con la descripción del producto.
We had been searching for a gate that didn’t have a bottom for the bottom of our stairs. I’m cheap, so paying over $100 for a ‘stair gate’ wasn’t part of my plan, especially since I’m buying the gate to keep my dogs downstairs and not protect a child from falling. This gate is awesome for what I wanted. It retracts to the wall and is easy enough to use. A child probably cannot manage opening and closing, and honestly, I’m not sure that if I had a child in my hands I’d be able to open and close, because it closure depends on you being able to line up the pieces on the gate and the pieces attached to the wall just so in order to close it properly.Installing the gate, WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY! Use the guides and get a good pen/marker to make your marks as to where you are putting the pieces onto the wall. We fought to get it perfect so everything would lock into place. If you and your partner work well together, this one might test the boundaries of your relationship. ijs. I highly recommend you include a stud finger into the mix of tools you might need. We ran into a stud and it resulted in some additional stress. I mean the videos online make it look easy, but it wasn’t that easy for us…but now that its installed I LOVE this gate and was exactly what I was looking for!
Great height. Sturdy and strong. Easy to install. Doesn’t damage wall. It looks nicer then the avrage baby gate. Doesn’t move easily. It’s easy to open. However our 3 year old figured it out quickly. But it was still a good deterrent for our 2 year old.
I am really impressed with how sturdy this gate is and how easy it was to put together. It took less than ten minutes! I am thankful that the fact the top latch will only work once the spring bolts were tightened was posted on the gate itself and in the instructions. They were easy to adjust until the fit was perfect. Love it!!
The five stars I gave are strictly for this companyâs customer service. The gate comes with a 4 inch and a 12 inch extension that you can add onto the 29 inch gate. So you need a very specific opening size for this to work, and it would not fit my particular opening despite being within their advertised size range. It took a couple days to get ahold of customer service, but when I did they immediately sent me out a 6 inch and an additional 4 inch so that I could accomplish a 14 inch extension onto the 29 inch gate. They didnât charge me for it. They were super friendly on the phone, and once I actually got ahold of them it was a breeze. The gate on the other hand is not a safe way to contain pets or children. It looks nice, it looks a lot more put together than the little wooden pressure mounted gates you can get for cheaper, but my cats and my 20 lb puppy pop the door on this open like itâs not there. And then my dogs get into the living room and destroy things and the puppy pees everywhere while I sleep. Even latched properly the door opens with minimal pressure against it. The door will be wide open with the latch still fully latched on the door. So it makes sense that in the instructions it says this is for six month old babies. If you have a toddler, definitely donât use this somewhere that they might be able to push it open. Or if you have a big dog that you absolutely need to keep separated from company this will not safely do so. Itâs also extremely wobbly even with the cups screwed into the wall, but I think thatâs because I have three small extensions on it, it wobbles at the extensions. If you just use the 29 inch main gate or possibly just one extension I imagine it would wobble less. But Iâm going back to my $15 wooden pressure mounted gate.
