Good product
I have 3 of these in my shop now and they work great for what I need, decently clear picture and sound also they are easy to connect and hook up.I will be buying more of these.
Great camera
Great video quality, good zoom, fairly easy setup. The biggest negative is that it does not angle low enough. If you have it sitting upright (as opposed to hanging from the ceiling), such as on a pole or a shelf, then the most downward angle you can point it is MAYBE 45 degrees, which means there is a huge blind spot around the base of it. For example, if it is sitting upright about 6 feet off the ground on a pole. There is probably about a 6 foot diameter blind spot underneath it.There are 3 quality settings, so you can lower data consumption while on mobile data. Even the low quality is good enough. The mechanical turning is really cool, and spins maybe 320 degrees. It’s frustrating because there is a delay from the app to the camera, so you keep over shooting where you’re trying to aim. Even the touchscreen toggle to move it on the phone seems to have a delay, you need to hold it for 0.5 seconds or else it doesn’t register. I feel like this could be fixed via software. The night vision is very good even at 20 feet or so.The power cord could be longer, but should work for most locations around a house. It looks like it’s about 8 feet. After leaving it unplugged for a while I had to do a hard reset, as it wouldn’t connect to my router again.Talking and listening through it is about as expected, 1 second delay, and medium quality, but great function for pets.
Great camera so far
This camera set up really easy. Then I disconnected it for a couple of weeks (I wanted it as a nany cam to my pets while we were gone on a week end. When I wanted to use it I plugged it in and all was perfect. No further set up needed. I was really surprized by that. The picture quality is great in daylight and in Black & white in the night it is good also, but the colour at night is horrible. For that reason alone I wouldn’t have it loose a star. I posted a picture of each so you can see what I mean.I like that I can controle the view. Zoom in and pan & tilt works great. I didint’ want it to automatically follow the subject because I think the cats would notice and avoid the area. And it is their feeding area. But it is great to be alb to use when needed in live view. The (missing) feature that disturbes me is that you can’t controle the video’s on the card that are there daily. I know the instructions say it will start overwriting old video’s when the card becomes full. And I know I can save, then subsiquently share video’s that I want to keep. BUT I really would like the option of just deleting a video that I don’t want to take up space, but there is nothing I found that would allow that. The night I tested the colour video, produced over 10 motion events that are just basically shades of black/red. Those I espcially don’t want on the card, but unless I remove the card and delete them that way there are no tools built into the app that allow that.Otherwize I am happy with my purchase. That would be just one suggestion I would make to the developer to change to make it perfect.Update Nov 22, 2023. This camera actually takes a 256g micro SD card. So I thought that I could replace the one in it with the larger one and keep swapping them to back them up on computer Instead of saving to my phone. Except the card is so hard to remove that the frustration is just not worth it. I have used 2 other brands of similar cameras over the last few months that were easy to swap out the card. Thinking the card slot is just a poor design.
Perfect Indoor Camera with Great Features
Pros:-Easily mountable on the ceiling-Quick and simple set-up process-Dependable wureless connection (has not lost wireless connection)-Great FOV-Low latency when moving the PTZ remotely-Tracking feature works well-Picking a default position to return to after a set time of no movement detected-User friendly App-Great infrared performance-Can be connected to Reolink NVR via Ethernet cable (also seems possible wirelessly according to their website but I havenât tried)Cons:-Need to buy a SD card to have playback, but still fairly cheap and expected
Great camera
I love this camera, I can check on my pets during the day while Iâm at work. Being able to move the camera with the app is very helpful when away from home.
I haven’t decided if I’m going to return this or not yet…
I usually love Reolink devices. I have a few of them. There are two glaring issues with this one.#1: It doesn’t have the port 80 configurator like most of Reolink’s other devices, forcing you to use their terrible application to set it up. It also has wifi, but doesn’t create its own network for you to connect to and configure it so you have to jump through hoops to configure it when you want to install it on an air gapped system because you don’t trust their applications.#2: When it turns on, it will very loudly over and over tell you to install their app and scan the QR code in like 5 different languages. And there is no ‘SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!’ button. So until you either unplug it, or find an ethernet cable to be able to serve it a DHCP address so it will stop yelling, it will just keep saying that on repeat non-stop. Infuriating nonsense.Picture quality is fine, functionality is fine, it’s just … not very well thought out.
was good deal
Sets up easily sets up with Google Wi-Fi which doesn’t allow you to choose the band (2.4 vs 5 ghz) and this camera has no problem connecting to the Wi-Fi. It’s extremely easy to unplug and plug in somewhere else or move. I like using it in situations that change so I’m constantly moving it. I actually have eight of these and love them I put them anywhere inside or covered that I need them and they work great. The other great thing is you can monitor and replay clips without paying any monthly fees. An SD card for this is extremely inexpensive and allows it to work without a local video recorder. Simply put the SD card in plug it in and add it to your app and you’re done. I’ve even put these in hallways and shared them with other people so we can monitor hallways in a building. They’re also tons of customizations with this camera. I have also used the two-way voice which this has. Night vision is decent on this. If you need a true security camera were you may need to zoom in on a figure with low lighting, you’re probably better getting a much higher pixel count but it’s going to be 3 to 4 times as expensive and bulkier.
Working perfectly round-the-clock for the past 9 months. Good quality and efficient
