Yes they are sharp and pointy. Not very robust though. I dropped them from maybe 1 foot onto the point and in folded at 90 degrees about 1/4 inch up the point.
As others have said here, these scissors are very sharp. I immediately and accidentally cut a hole in the pouch. They work great!
Glad only brought these as a spare pair to into my work handbag, otherwise would have sent back, not brilliant and they are not really sharp for cutting any nails feet or otherwise
