Worst Safety 1st cabinet lock…and we’ve tried them all
Since we expect to be using these for a while with a 2 yr old or we’ve nick named the “Destroyer”, we bought this lock, the Safety 1st OutSmart Flex Lock and the Safety 1st Grip ‘N Go Cabinet Lock. This one is the hardest to use, significantly harder than the OutSmart Flex Lock.It’s okay to install and I like that the pieces of the lock stay attached to the door. However opening it was a trial of fire. Pressing both the green lock button and the lever on the bottom at the same time, both which require significant pressure, and then pulling the lock apart took at least two hands. My wife tried for about a minute and gave up. We ended up buying mainly the OutSmart Flex Lock (8) but will also keep using the two Grip ‘N Go Cabinet Lock, which are good but a bit harder to use than the OutSmart.
Best ones for knobs
Had one for under the sink when my oldest was a toddler and used it for years. Finally had to cut it off. These hold up very well. Re-ordered for new baby.
So hard to open
I mean it’s great the baby won’t get in there but it’s difficult to open up as an adult too. ð¤£
Good lock, does the job
This is a really good child safety lock for people with closed handle cabinets. I mostly moved dangerous items from the lower cabinets to upper cabinets as I feel it is better to teach children not to go into the cupboards at all rather than prevent them from doing so. Alas, the cupboard under my sink has all kinds of cleaning products and so I needed a lock for this particular cabinet.The lock installs very easily and you can really make it quite tight which prevents any chance of little fingers reaching up under the cabinet and getting their fingers snapped (or reaching a dangerous product).The only thing I find is that it is difficult to open when I do need something. It is a complicated out and downward movement to open the lock and I just have not mastered it yet.Personally, I don’t care what it looks like (white on my woodgrain look cabinets) but I know some people might find it unsightly. Not my issue and I don’t think the brown or black ones would look much better.

It’s a very solid lock, my 3.5 year old isn’t able to open it but its easy for an adult. Super easy to install
Sturdy and safe
Great Products. Very effective, we have two in our home. One on our tv stand and the other on the cleaning supplies drawer. They work perfectly and little one isn’t pulling on them or anything. Great product
CRAP!
I got this specific type of lock because it’s the only one that has stood up over the few years that we’ve used them. Completely kid proof! I keep my sharp blender and glass containers safely away from even my five-year-old (who by the way, knows how to open every child safe lock there is!)I got my other one at Walmart, and maybe that was the reason why it’s lasted so long?!I ordered two of these locks from Amazon and they were absolute garbage. Completely disappointing. As soon as I tried to pull the long plastic piece to tighten it around my cupboard knobs, it busted off. I wasn’t pleased, then tried the second lock, and it did the same thing. I don’t know why they were so fragile, maybe they had been in storage for a thousand years or soaked in some kind of plastic dissolving solution, but they just snapped like thin toothpicks. I held the strips in my hands and a simple bend of it and SNAP! Complete waste of money. Thank goodness they were only a few dollars! Geesh!These are a great lock, but obviously not from this supplier!
