Works both ways
Love this gate latch, works great. Smooth and simple operation and looks so good. Very easy to install. Just have turn handle up vs down. Not a problem for us. Just had to cut the metal connector rod to size. If can’t do that you build out the gate depth. By putting a small square of wood under one or both of your handles.
Was relatively easy to install
The only issue was having to cut the really long 4″ hexagon metal rod. Had to cut about an inch off. Aside from that installed and worked appropriately.

Will actually fit gates thicker than 3 1/2″
Latch is of good quality and looks nice.Although the description indicates that the latch will only fit up to 3 1/2″ gates, it worked on my 3 3/4″ gate and I believe by looking at it that it would even work on a 4″ thick gate.
Gate Latch
We had a barrel lock for our gate. The problem was short people and kids could not open the gate from the outside. This gate latch with the thumb release has solved the problem.

Feels well made. It has a nice spring action. I like that the latch return is flush with the plate rather than perpendicular to it as my gate post is on an annoying angle, but this works well. My gate was standard depth so I did have to trim the spindle to size. Arrived on time as promised.
Sturdy, well made, easy to install! I couldn’t ask for more. It fits well with all of the other hardware I’m the catio. I don’t have to worry about the cats escaping, because it latches itself easily when the door is closed.
This is quite expensive for a garden gate latch however it seems well made, sturdy, nicely finished, easy to mount and looks lovely. If it lasts then it will prove a very worthwhile purchase.
Back gate . Looks elegant. The lock elevated the gate from functional to beautiful. Neighbors and friends are going to duplicate it for their gate.
