Build qualityThe snail is well made with no defects. The product is sturdy and made with durable plastic and is well constructed. I am impressed with the quality.SetupI actually had quite an ordeal trying to set this up. The device set up initially but had some sort of error during an update and it took several attempts of trying to reset and reconnect to get it to work again, but I eventually did and everying has worked fine since then. I suspect this issue has been resolved by now and I did get one of the early versions to evaulate.UseThe snail is really cool — you can use it to set the mood (lights and sounds) for an activity on the fly as well as what its desined for — on a schedules. Its great for training a toddler for when to go to bed, get up , go to sleep etc. Even if you don’t have a toddler you can use it as a parent to help remind you when it time to start the “put down” process.Visual CuesIt’s not obvious at first but you can setup different colors to mean different things, essentially like a “clock” for your kiddo . e.g “Orange” = get ready for bed, “red” = stay in bed, “Yellow” = start to wake up , “Green” = get dressed and have breakfast.Final thoughtsThis is a great schedule training device that can be used as on the fly noise machine as well all through an app. It works well and I recommend it.

I bought this and brought it to Brazil where I currently live. Itâs controlled by the SkipHop app that isnât available in the Brazilian App Store. Therefore, it wonât work.I wrote to SkipHop to see if there was a chance of the app becoming available to Brazilians and havenât heard back since.Really disappointed.
You canât change the sounds or colors from the sound machine itself, you can only turn it on/off and change the volume. Colors and sounds can only be changed if youâre using the app.The device plays the sound from the bottom, which would be flush against your dresser or floor or wherever you place it, so it sounds muffled and muted. Itâs very quiet, even on the loudest setting, and even if you turn it over to expose the speaker.And the sound is not deep and warm, even the brown noise is extremely sharp and tingy.The snail is cute looking, but itâs a terrible sounding sound machine that has extremely limited use if you donât have WiFi/use the app.
Goes great with any kids room can change colors, has a bunch of different sounds and songs (still learning this part ) , this is something that can grow with your child all the way from baby to toddler so I think itâs a great baby shower gift too . I have iPhone and thereâs an app you can download to control all the diff things this does .itâs not very big so easy to take with you on vacation or grandmas
